Ralph M. Kennel received his Dr.-Ing. (Ph.D.) degree from the University of Kaiserslautern in 1984. From 1983 to 1999 he worked for Robert BOSCH GmbH (Germany). From 1999 to 2008 he was Professor for Electrical Machines and Drives at Wuppertal University (Germany). Since 2008 he has been Professor for Electrical Drive Systems and Power Electronics at Technische Universitaet Muenchen (Germany). Dr. Kennel is a Senior Member of IEEE, a Fellow of IET (former IEE) and a Chartered Engineer in the UK. Within IEEE he is Treasurer of the Germany Section. In 2018 Dr. Kennel received the Doctoral degree honoris causa from Universitatea Stefan cel Mare in Suceava (Romania). Dr. Kennel has received in 2013 the Harry Owen Distinguished Service Award from IEEE-PELS, the EPE Association Distinguished Service Award in 2015 as well as the EPE Outstanding Achievement Award in 2019. Dr. Kennel was appointed “Extraordinary Professor” by the University of Stellenbosch (South Africa) from 2016 to 2019 and as “Visiting Professor” at the Haixi Institute by the Chinese Academy of Sciences from 2016 to 2021. There he was appointed as "Jiaxi Lu Overseas Guest Professor" in 2017. In 2018 Dr. Kennel was appointed Guest Professor at Harbin Institute of Technology (HIT), Harbin, China. In 2019 Dr. Kennel was appointed "Honorary Chair Professor" ("distinguished visiting professor") at Shandong University in Jinan, China.

Prof. C.-J. Li received his Ph.D. at McGill University 1992 and was a NSERC Postdoctoral Fellow Stanford University (US). He was an Assistant (1994), Professor (1998) and Full Professor (2000) at Tulane University (US). Since 2003, he has been a Canada Research Chair (Tier I) in Green Chemistry and E. B. Dr Lee's expertise includes bioenergy recovery from waste, membrane processes, sludge treatment, and microscale heat and mass transport processes. He was the Chair Professor of National Taiwan University, the National Chair of Ministry of Education, Taiwan, and is now the Chair Professor of Department of Mechanical Engineering, City University of Hong Kong. Dr. Lee was the President of Taiwan Institute of Chemical Engineers and that of International Bioprocess Association, and has engaged in editorial works for a few renown academic journals and book series. Richard Saykally is the Class of 1932 Distinguished Professor Emeritus at the University of California-Berkeley. Born in Rhinelander, Wisconsin and educated at UW-Eau Claire and UW-Madison, Saykally has been a professor at the University of California, Berkeley since 1979. A co-author of over 400 publications that have been cited over 50,000 times (H index > 100), the recipient of over 80 honors and awards from 15 different countries, Saykally is a member of the National Academy of Sciences and the American Academy of Arts and Sciences, and has received the E.O. Lawrence Award in Chemistry from the U.S. Department of Energy, the Hinshelwood Lectureship from Oxford University, the Inaugural International Solvay Chair in Chemistry from the Solvay Institutes of Belgium, the Peter DeBye Award in Physical Chemistry from the ACS, the J.C. Professor Xudong Zhao has been working in the fields of renewable energy, energy efficiency and sustainable heating, cooling and power systems for more than 35 years. He has led and/or participated in 68 research projects funded by the EU, EPSRC, Innovate-UK, Newton Fund, Royal Society, Royal Academy of Engineering, Ministry of Science and Technology of China and industries, including 8 multi-national, large-scale collaborative projects. These have made an accumulated fund in excess of £28 million and have led to 14 patents being granted. Jes Donneborg is Senior Vice President at Aalborg CSP. Mr. Donneborg is responsible for the company’s sales activities in both Germany and Austria, where his main objective is to push for the implementation of solar-thermal systems, heat pumps plants and Pit Thermal Energy Storage (PTES) projects. Jeff Pieper is the incoming Chair of the Canadian Engineering Accreditation Board. Currently, Zafiro INIA is the most planted variety in the Chilean rice sector, occupying 70% of the surface. Also, Karla has led the development of a new rice production system, adapting principles of the System of Rice Intensification (SRI) to Latin American paddy rice fields and integrating new rice varieties. The Climate Smart Rice System (CSRS), is based on low seeding density (less than 70 kg/ha), drill seeding (30 cm between rows), mixed weed control (lower herbicide use combined with mechanical control), soil aeration and intermittent irrigation during the complete rice life cycle to avoid flooding and GHG emissions. Emil Roduner is a former Chair of Physical Chemistry at the University of Stuttgart and since his retirement a part-time professor at the University of Pretoria in South Africa. He wrote an advanced textbook on Nanoscopic Materials: Size-Dependent Phenomena (2006/2014), and together with three coauthors one on Optical Spectroscopy – Fundamentals and Advanced Applications (2018). His broad research interests include studies on structure, size-effects, and mechanisms of elementary steps in catalysis. Professor Markus Roth is a distinguished professor of physics at the Institut für Kernphysik, TU-Darmstadt since 2003. Dr. Yao Lixia completed her PhD at the S. Rajaratnam School of International Studies, Nanyang Technological University in Singapore. She has a Bachelor’s degree from Dalian Maritime University in China, and a Master’s degree from Vrije Universiteit Brussel in Belgium. She has done research on the quantitative measurement of energy security, the impacts of China’s macroeconomic reforms on its energy sector, and the energy security and energy policies of Northeast Asia and Southeast Asia. Her current research focuses on China’s Belt and Road Initiative, China’s energy security and energy policies, ASEAN’s energy sector, and ASEAN’s decarbonization strategies.

Professor Ganguli received his PhD from the Institute of Chemical Technology, Mumbai. He has more than eight years of experience in the chemical industry and has worked across the breadth of the domain, with projects spanning computational fluid dynamics of multiphase flows, process modelling, process equipment design and optimisation, plant support for extractive systems and some commodity chemical processes. He has received a number of laurels for his work, including the Abhaynkar Award in ICT, Mumbai and the Patent Award in the Saudi Arabia Basic Industries Corporation (SABIC). He has about 18 international publications in such journals as Chemical Engineering Science, Chemical Engineering Research and Design, American Insitute of Chemical Engineers (AIChE), and Physics of Fluids. He has already amassed 250 citations to his publications. He is also a member of Indian Institute of Chemical Engineers and American Chemical Society. He began his career as a post-doctoral researcher with the University of Paderborn, Germany. There, he worked on model development for mass transfer across interfaces and droplet coalescence. Subsequently, he joined the Paul Scherrer Institute, Switzerland, Technoforce Solutions, Mumbai and SABIC R&D, Bangalore before joining Ahmedabad University. Arbel Yaniv is a PhD candidate from the School of Electrical Engineering at Tel Aviv University, Israel. Her research focuses on algorithms and applied machine-learning for power and energy applications, including power system optimal operation and optimal energy management in microgrids, via optimal control of the various grid assets including legacy assets, edge devices, PV-plus-storage, EVs, and load consumption.

Enio Pontes is a full professor in the Department of Metallurgical and Materials Engineering at the Federal University of Ceará (UFC) in Brazil. He holds a PhD in Structural Engineering from the University of São Paulo and Technische Universität Braunschweig in Germany. Pontes has been a visiting professor at QUT in Australia and ENS/LMT in Cachan, France. Currently, Professor Pontes works as a professor and researcher in the Graduate Program in Engineering and Materials Science at UFC. He is the Head of the Laboratory for Failure Analysis (LAMEFF) at UFC. His research focuses on advanced characterization of chitosan, nanocellulose, and graphene oxide membranes for green hydrogen PEM electrolyzers, utilizing artificial intelligence techniques for optimization. Dr. Pontes' work aims to enhance the efficiency and sustainability of PEM electrolyzers by analyzing and optimizing the structural and functional properties of these membranes. With a background in materials engineering and a leadership role in failure analysis, he brings a wealth of expertise to the field of sustainable energy technologies. Pontes is actively involved in the field of Renewable Energies. He is the coordinator of the Thematic Meeting on renewable energy at the National Conference on Science, Technology, and Innovation in Fortaleza. He also organizes the International Conference on Renewable Energy Technologies (CITER) in Piauí. Additionally, Pontes is a member of the Advisory Board of FINEP (the Brazilian Innovation Agency) and holds the position of Science and Technology director at PROIFES (the Brazilian Federation of University Professors)

Mr. Faisal has around 20 years of professional experience in the energy sector (both in multinational and public sector organizations) with sound international exposure and extensive involvement in energy policy, regulatory affairs, clean energy transition, environment mitigation & adaptation, net zero carbon strategy, single buyers and multiple buyers electrcity markets, electricity market reforms & development, techno-economic valuation, competitive auctioning, bidding documents, power plants performance, Environmental and Social Impact Assessment of Power Projects, risks analysis, contract administration, project finance and tariff structuring of electricity generation & infrastructure projects. Currently, he holds the position of Director at PPIB, Ministry of Energy, Govt of Pakistan. Moreover, He is a member of many national and international energy research and policy advisory forums including his role as an Associate Fellow, at Durham Energy Institute, Alumni Advisory Panel Member of Commonwealth Scholarship Commission UK, Advisory Board Member of the US-Pak Centre for Advanced Study in Energy, NUST Islamabad and Founding Member of Network on Clean Energy Transition: Research and Advocacy, SDPI, Pakistan He holds diverse academic qualifications including graduation in “Mechanical Engineering” from the University of Engineering and Technology Lahore, “Master in Energy Management” from CIIT Islamabad, “Master in Business Administration” with Gold Medal from SZABIST Islamabad, Pakistan, “M.Sc. in New and Renewable Energy” with Distinction from Durham University, United Kingdom and MRes International Development with Distinction from University of Bath, United Kingdom. Besides, he attended a number of national and international trainings in the related areas. Currently, he is a UKRI-ESRC-funded Doctoral researcher at the University of Bath, UK. His research is on Climate Sustainability and Energy Transition focusing on the Socio-Political, Policy, Economic, and Justice implications of Clean Energy Transition in Pakistan. In his official role, He has supported the successful deliverance of several policies and plans of the Government of Pakistan for the energy sector including his lead role in developing the SDG7 road map in collaboration with UN-ESCAP. He also supported the completion of multi-billion dollars’ renewable and conventional energy projects, formulation, and implementation of various strategies, negotiations of concession agreements for IPPs, upfront tariffs for multiple generation technologies, ongoing energy sector’ reforms and electricity market development contributing to sustainable socio-economic development of the country. He has also participated in several community development initiatives purely in a volunteer capacity.

Mr. Lam Hin Shun Thomas served as Research Assistant in Asian Energy Studies Centre (2020 Dec to now). He has obtained Master of Science in Energy and Environment at City University of Hong Kong (2020 July) and obtained bachelor’s degree in building services engineering at Technological and Higher Education Institute (2019 July). He has also participated the ISDRS sustainability conference (2023) and obtained Global AI challenge for Building E&M Silver Award (2022)

Mr. Bhanudas B.Takale is a Full Time Research Scholar in Birla Institute of Technology And Science, Pilani (2021 Sept to present). He has obtained Master of Engineering degree in Heat-Power engineering (January 2017), and bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering (July 2013) from Shivaji university, Kolhapur, India. Prior to pursuing a PhD, Mr. Bhanudas B. Takale served as a lecturer at VTC Patgoan (August 2013- December 2015), SBGI Miraj (January 2016- April 2019 and PVPIT Budhgaon (June 2019-June 2021,) where he gained valuable teaching and research experience. His ongoing research aims to develop efficient and sustainable methods for harnessing solar energy, with a particular focus on enhancing the effectiveness of solar drying techniques and optimizing thermal energy storage systems. He has presented his research findings in three international conferences (IEEE CPERE 2023, Egypt, CONSOLFOOD 2023, Spain and ICAER 2023, IIT Bombay, India) and also expanded his professional network. Additionally, Mr. Bhanudas B.Takale has served as a reviewer for the IEEE Conference on Power Electronics And Renewable Energy, February 2023 held in Egypt, reflecting a dedication to maintaining rigorous academic standards in the field.

Dr. Ranjit S Patil did PhD (Energy) at IIT Guwahati and worked on Circulating Fluidized Bed Heat Exchangers. Further he worked as Post Doctoral fellow researcher at ENEA Nuclear Research Centre Italy. He did research in the area of Energy & Process Heat Transfer in Two Phase Flow domain of Microtubes at ENEA. During the tenure of research work related to ENEA Italy, he has visited to France (Paris), Austria, Hungary, Switzerland. Prior PhD he did ME in Mechanical Engineering (Government College of Engineering Karad, affiliated to Shivaji University) with specialization in Heat & Power Engineering (IC Engines group) and gained a research experience through project on Energy Conservation in Indian Cement Industries at National Chemical Laboratory - CSIR Lab Pune in collaboration with B. K. Birla Group of Companies - Vasavadatta Cement Plant. He received MHRD fellowship (2004-2010) during full time ME and PhD program. He did BE at Dr. BAMU Aurangabad university with an excellent academic record and as a university ranker. Since last 22 years (including the 3 years of experience gained at state Government's sponsored Walchand College of Engineering Sangli 2001-2004), last twenty-two years he is working in the field of Fluid and Thermal Engineering for research and teaching. After completing PDF at ENEA Italy, in December 2011, he joined to department of Mechanical engineering and at present, he is working as an Associate Professor in BITS Pilani - K K Birla Goa campus, Goa. He has actively worked at various administrative tasks at BITS Pilani - K K Birla Goa campus, Goa. He has developed research laboratories on CFB Boilers, I C Engines, Microchanel and Nano-fluid, Solar energy through the funds received from SERB-DST and BITS. Five doctoral students completed PhD under his guidance. He has published papers in well known - reputed international conferences held at IITs, IISc Bangalore, attended conferences held at abroad - at Imperial College London UK, Bangkok Thiland, Krakow Poland, USA, Seoul South Korea, Dubai -UAE, Cairo & Luxor - Egypt, Spain etc. He received travel support from DST, CCSTDS (former CICS Chennai), BITS to attend the international conferences. He has published his research work in the reputed Book chapters, and Journals published by Elsevier, Taylor & Francis, ASME, IMechE, Springer, Physics of Fluids etc. Also, he has worked a reviewer for research papers submitted at many reputed journals & conferences, and also worked as reviewer for research proposals submitted at UGC, IITs; and PhD thesis reviewer for various universities. He is recipient of INSA Visiting Scientist Fellowship award (2014-15) by Government of India and worked as visiting Scientist in summer 2014 at IIT Guwahati. He is also recipient of OPERA (Outstanding Potential for Excellence in Research and Academics) Award (2014-19) by BITS Pilani for his excellence in Teaching and Research.
